Limited Brands, Columbus, Ohio: External Communications Intern
Limited Brands is a $10 billion international parent company to some of the world’s most renowned brands including Victoria’s Secret, Bath and Body Works and Henri Bendel.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop social media engagement strategy to establish an enterprise protocol and guidelines
- Lead social media monitoring process; train media team on how to use social media monitoring tools
- Distribute online monitoring reports three times a week to more than 65 leaders across the enterprise
- Manage incoming media calls and more than 100 action required emails daily
- Generate positive media coverage for Limited Brands’ community events
- Draft and edit press releases and memos to executives
- Write personnel profiles to be featured in local newspapers and published books
- Organize and conduct research on issue-based topics
- Coordinate team-building activities for a 20-person function
City of Grove City, Ohio: Event Coordination Intern
Responsibilities include:
- Arrange and promote special events
- Design newsletters, pamphlets and signs
- Supervise a 20-person staff for daily projects
- Piloted first theme days at city’s aquatic center to attract new members and sustain current membership
- Directed first dog swim at city’s aquatic center that drew an unanticipated large crowd of more than 150 dogs and received praise from city staff and residents
Mary Kay Cosmetics, Dover, Ohio: Independent Beauty Consultant
Responsibilities include:
- Uphold a 12-person loyal customer base
- Arrange product events
- Communicate with customers via email and phone on an on-going basis
- Manage stock to have readily available cosmetics for customers while minimizing inventory
- Control finances
Relative Course Experience
Extensive course projects include:
- Constructed a public relations plan to educate the student body about the effects of binge drinking and presented to the director of Otterbein College’s student wellness
- Outlined a proposal for the sustainability of the It’s Abuse campaign on Otterbein’s campus
- Developed an plan to help the Greater Linden Development Corporation with outreaching media efforts
